| "If there's no blues in your jazz you ain't got no jazz!" Students start their JAZZ playing by learning to play the "blues". Using a "riff-based" approach to rhythm and solo development students learn how to perform traditional, swing, modern jazz and commercial styles. Lessons include instruction in sound production, technique & effective use of the seven ingredients of JAZZ playing. As students develop their "solo chops" they begin to learn and then apply these basic rules for JAZZ playing. Lesson schedules fit YOUR lifestyle, no schedule obligation or pre-payments and with an on-line calendar student and teacher are always in touch. The program allows flexible scheduling of lessons. Tuition is $25 per 1/2 hour or $45 per hour - only on Saturday or Sunday mornings(8am to 1 pm) at my studio. Parents are encouraged to be present for recorded lessons. No cost or obligation for first lesson ensures a good student/teacher fit. |
